The faculty and students of Valley Forge Middle School recently donated the $2,000 proceeds from their annual Student-Faculty Basketball Game to FLITE. This generous donation will help fund many programs at T/E schools, including VFMS, that provide support and opportunities to students with limited resources.
“This is such a wonderful event because it not only raises money for an excellent cause, but it also brings the students and staff together in doing so,” said Angela Timmons, the VFMS faculty organizer of the event. “Congratulations to the students for the big win!”
VFMS has raised over $10,000 for FLITE from the Student-Faculty Basketball Game since 2011. This year’s event was packed and generated a record donation to FLITE, thanks to the efforts of the faculty, athletes and the VFMS student council, who worked on promoting and selling the tickets to the enthusiastic and supportive VFMS community.
“The VFMS community has supported FLITE with the proceeds of their annual Student-Faculty Basketball Game for many years,” said Paige Skelly, FLITE Board Member. “This is a great example of students, teachers, staff and parents coming together to raise funds for academic programs that help many VFMS students. We are grateful to all that organized, participated in and attended this year’s game.”
