The Neighborhood League Shops Foundation has awarded $7,500 to FLITE to support the district’s After School Homework Program. The Neighborhood League Shops operates three consignment shops in Wayne, Pennsylvania to raise funds to donate to local nonprofit organizations to benefit those in need. This marks the seventh consecutive year of generous support to FLITE from this vital community organization.
The After School Homework Program enables children in T/E’s five elementary schools and two middle schools to stay after school to complete their homework with professional supervision and assistance, and it provides bus transportation home for all participants. Teachers report that students’ participation in after school programs is beneficial to academic achievement, confidence and social adjustment.
“The mission of the Neighborhood League Shops Foundation is to improve the quality of life in our community by providing grants to local non-profit organizations that focus on health and social services using monies generated through our shops,” said Carol Jane, Grants Committee Chair. “We are proud to be able to continue support of your organization.”
“The Neighborhood League Shops Foundation supports the After School Homework Program because it is a true investment in the future of our community,” said NLS Chair Suzanne Mechwart. “We look forward to determining how we can strengthen our partnership with FLITE to support local education.”
